Emily has had quite a busy spring. She has participated in shot put and discus. She went to regional in discus. Look at that form!!!

And if she was not busy enough, she played volleyball on weekend in Dallas. She will be a senior playing on her high school team next year.

And then there was the prom. Same weekend! Hard to believe! WOW! She and Jake look really good!!
![]() Paula is ready for the prom too! |
Jake also participates in track. Well actually he dominates. In the state track meet he got a gold in discus and a silver shot put.. Not bad.....best in the state of Texas.
And then there is flag football! Em is looking really good. Maybe the first professional female quarterback in our family's future.
Paula, the Pittman's foreign exchange student was involved in school tennis. She was a medalist in doubles. Way to go Paula! She is on the left.
The next big occasion was Katey and Jeremy's wedding. Back in November it seemed such a long time away but those days flew by.
The weekend began at the church with the rehearsal. Organization is the key to a smooth wedding and Katey had it all under control. Everything was lined out and all went smoothly. Then we headed Saltgrass for a dinner hosted by Jeremy's family.
The wedding day was busy from start to finish. It seems like people were working all over Lockhart to get ready. Jim, Ron, Winn and Rick were cooking and slicing fajita meat, the girls were decorating and everyone else was on call for anything that was needed. This was definitely an example of "it takes a family".
There is no way it could not have been pulled off without Jim, Amelia, Lee, Winn, Kevin, Amy, Chip, Brooks, Jarin, Emily, Michael, Dusty, Sarah, and Jenni.
We were so busy that we did not get pictures of all the pre wedding hustle and bustle.
But the time finally came.....
Lucy escorted Katey down the aisle. They looked so pretty coming down the aisle together. Notice Amy in the background. She was making sure everyone came in on time.
Michael married Katey and Jeremy. I was so proud of him. He did an excellent job. When he asked who gives the bride Lucy said "her family and I". I was so proud of her. That could not have been easy, but she was beautifully composed.
They said "I do" and the rest is history. The usual pictures were taken and then everyone headed to the reception.
Once again I did not have my camera out and the photographer's are not available yet but I have a few that others sent to me.
Dusty and Brooks were the emcee/dj team. I dubbed them the "Groovin Duo" They were quite good! But of course what did I expect! Wish I had a picture.
We had a good dinner, delicious cakes, more picture taking, dancing and just good visiting as we enjoyed the evening.
Here are a few pictures. I will make more available when we get them from the photographer. By the way, the photographer was great. Katey found him by looking in the phone book. As she was going down the names she saw Smith's Photography. At the name Smith she stopped looking! He was the winner.
Katey and Michael
Everything was beautiful ...
Look at those smiles!
Smooching!
Cutting the cake! Yum!
The grooms cake ..... a rubix cube.
The first dance.
Dancing with her Papaw.
Wind down time after the wedding at Nanny and Papaws.
Well this is it until next time.
We will do this all over again in 10 days except it will be for Brooks and Jarin.
And then right around the corner, Dusty and Sarah's little Will will be born.
And if that was not enough in September Winn and Kirstin will be married.
So until next time......
